Trivia
- Another set of tinkerings from the Celtic management. Back in came Billy Price with John Clark out with a knee injury as too was Mike Jackson; Also back was Bobby Carroll and Frank Brogan was switched over to the right side again; and in came Bobby Lennox for a debut game. Lennox had been taken on from Ardeer Recreation and had done well in the Reserves.
- Snow started to fall as the game kicked off and the pitch was hard underfoot.
Review
The first half was a pretty dull affair. Lennox did have the ball in the net but had illegally used a hand to control it..
The second half was just as lamentable and Dundee's goal came from a trundler that caught Haffey on the six yard line and going the wrong way. Of more interest was the disturbance off the pitch where some kind of scrapping broke out. Brogan equalised for Celtic with 10 minutes remaining, a goal that should have been covered by Ure who allowed it to sail into the net. Five minutes later Celtic had a winner when McNeill headed a corner home quite brilliantly.
