The Celtic Football Club
More than once for the last few months we have informed our readers of the progress made by the Celtic Club.

To-day we are able to state that the park and stand are in a complete state, nor has the team, the essential part, been forgotten. It is considered that next season the Celts will have a team equal to any in the city. Twice already they have entered the arena and came off victorious.

The first time they had the Rangers, a first class team, all will admit, and who had to lower their colours on leaving the field, as the Celtic beat them by five goals to two, not a bad start.

The second match was played with the Dundee Harp, who placed their best team on the field, and with some hesitation the Celtic with a weak team (some of the best being engaged playing in a charity match) to the surprise of many gained a victory by one goal to nil. Judging by the turn out of spectators, and the counter attractions over Hampden way, the two teams have very good prospects.

We are safe in saying that fully 6,000 persons were present. We understand that the redoubtable Mossend Swifts, the holders of the Edinburgh Shield, have consented to play to-day (Saturday) a benefit match for the Celtic.

We are sure if the clerk of the weather is in good humour that the gate will be a bumper one, and we hope a victorious match for the pincky Celts, who we understand will place their best team on the park.

We should very much like to see a friendly match with their neighbours the Clyde who have walked off with the Graham Cup last week from the Thistle.

We are sure that the East-enders would turn out in big numbers here to witness the first contest between the two teams.
