These two clubs played off their tie on Celtic Park. The Abstainers won the toss and took the advantage of the strong gusty wind. The Celtic kicked off, starting with only nine men, however, the missing men made their appearance almost five minutes later.

After an onslaught by the Abstainers on the Celtic goal Kelly got the ball and had a run up the park. The opposing defence stopped him before he had a chance to shoot. McCallum then had a run up the right wing and sent the ball into goal. Wilkie ran out to save but fell and the ball ran slowly through.

At half time the score stood in favour of Celtic by one goal to nothing.

On the recommencing the Celtic confined their opponents to their own territory for a quarter of an hour, at the termination of which McKeown, who was playing centre forward scored. The Celtic in the second half rearranged their team. As the game progressed the Celtic continued to press they got a corner. It was well placed and McKeown headed through.

The result was Celtic 5 goals, United Abstainers 1 goal.
