The Scotsman – Monday, 20th February 1893, page 5
Celtic v Rangers – The sixth final tie for the Glasgow Cup was played at Cathkin Park, the Celtic (holders) and the Rangers being the contestants. Rain fell all the forenoon, and the pitch was accordingly heavy. The Rangers played their old back, Hay, of the London Caledonians, and Davie, of the second eleven. The Celtic were fully represented. Towie and Maley being again in their places. The attendance was influenced by the weather and the high charges, but at the start about twelve thousand were on the ground. The Celtic had the best of the toss, and the Rangers started. Result Rangers, three goals; Celtic, one goal.
A foul against the Celts came to nothing, and the Irishmen forced the first corner of the game.
