Rangers v Celtic – This match was played at Ibrox Park, before 10,000 spectators. The Rangers won the toss and played with the wind. Five minutes from the start McPherson, who had had a fine run, scored, followed after a similar interval by another by Barker. The Rangers continued to press, having the best of it. Half-time result :- Rangers, two goals; Celtic, nil. After the usual interval the game was resumed, but, although the Celtic had the wind in their favour, the Rangers had all the best of matters, and had several good tries at goal, culminating, after about twenty minutes’ play, in a very smart goal by D. McPherson. The home team continued to press all along, only once or twice having their lines crossed. Doyle was completely outwitted by the smart play of little Davie, who beat Cullen with a good shot, but it turned out that the whistle had blown for a foul just at this moment, and the point was disallowed. Stung by the reverses the visitors played well together, and about ten minutes from the finish Madden scored for his team. Result :- Rangers, three goals; Celtic, one goal
