Celtic v Leith Athletic – The Leith Athletic finished their League season last evening when they visited Parkhead, Glasgow, and played off their engagement with the Celtic in presence of over 300 spectators. Davidson scored for the home team ten minutes after the start, but noting further followed in the first period. On resuming, the Leith had the hard luck, and two more goals had to be conceded. Henderson afterwards gained the only point for the Athletic and the game ended – Celtic, three goals; Leith Athletic, one goal.

Leith Athletic won the toss and the Celtic kicked off. The Celtic at once began to press and Russell was called upon to save. During the opening stages some pretty passing and head work was shown on both sides.
The Celtic forwards breaking away ran past all opposition and Campbell passing the ball to Davidson, that player scored with a fine goal.
The Celtic still kept at it and were soon at the Leith goal, but a foul brought relief.
The Leith forwards at last broke away, and Laing sent in a hot shot which Cullen saved smartly.
Campbell and Davidson coming away together, had a fine run, but were stopped by Anderson.
The Celtic forward immediately afterwards kept a perfect score on the Leith goal, Russell clearing in most brilliant fashion.
At half-time the score was – Celtic, 1 goal; Leith, 0.
On restarting play became very fast, both sides attacking in turn. The Leith forwards were now playing a fine game and sometimes outwitting the Celtic defence.
The Celtic forwards, getting on the ball had a fine run, but McMahon put the ball high over the bar. The Celtic kept up the pressure, and after another fine run, Madden scored a second goal, Davidson scoring a third shortly afterwards.
The Leith settled at this reverse, wakening up a bit, and after some pretty forward play, Henderson sent in a beauty that Cullen failed to catch thus scoring their first goal.
Towards the close the play was of …………….? game, the Celtic running out easy winners of a good game by 3 goals to 1.
