Review
Played at Langlands Park, Govan. The Celtic kicked off. For a time play was even. The Linthouse were first to get away, and nearly scored from a corner.
The Linthouse were having much the best of the game, but their shooting was weak.
The Celtic had a look in occasionally, but they were seldom dangerous.
Before crossing over, the Linthouse had hard lines.
Half-Time:- No scoring.
The second half opened well, and for a time Linthouse pressed. Then the Celtic took up the running, and Campbell scored their first goal with a header. The Linthouse played up with renewed energy, but time was nearly up when McFarlane equalised with a lovely shot.
Fast play followed, each goal being assailed in turn, but the Celtic held it, and Campbell scored a second goal.
Result:- Celtic, two goals; Linthouse, one goal.

Played at Langlands, Govan, before the largest number of spectators ever seen at that enclosure. When the hour arrived there were at least 6,000 people present.
The Linthouse won the toss, and decided to play with the wind and sun at their backs. The Linthouse left wing were soon on the ball, and within a couple of minutes Reynolds had to head out a shot from Melrose. A free kick against the Linthouse was the next feature of the game. Doyle placed the ball well., but Madden headed it over the crossbar.
Play was most exciting , each goal being visited in turn.
Half-Time result –
Linthouse, 0 goals: Celtic, 0 goals.
The second half had a very sensational opening. After a visit from the Celtic, the Linthouse forwards came away, and Kelly had to kick behind to save his goal. The corner, though, came to nothing.
A fine shot by Steel was caught on the line by Cullen.
The enthusiasm of the spectators was raised by some capital runs on the Linthouse right, and Doyle and Dunbar had their work cut out to stop the rushes. “Montgomery” was prominent for Celts. Getting relief, the Celtic made tracks for Leslie, and Blessington centred, Campbell caught the pass on his head and sent the ball past Leslie.
Towards the close the Linthouse put on a supreme effort, and from a fine try McFarlane equalised.
The Celts strained every nerve to gain the winning point, and just before the close Campbell did it, a fast shot beating Leslie for a second time.
Result:- Celtic, 2 goals: Linthouse, 1 goal.
