CELTIC V QUEEN’S PARK – Played at Parkhead in snowy weather. Even play was seen at the start, but gradually the Celtic began to press, and kept the Queen’s Park on the defensive. The Celtic were awarded a foul and scored after a scrimmage. The Queen’s tried hard to get level, and narrowly missed scoring on several occasions. After some dull play, Lambie equalised. The game then became much faster, the Queen’s attacking with great vigour. The Celts also spurted and should have scored at least twice. The second goal came at last, and at half-time the score stood as follows :- Celtic two goals; Queen’s, one. The Celtic went off briskly on resuming, and scored I five minutes. The Queen’s replied with a goal two minutes later. For a time the Celtic kept the Queen’s from passing midfield, sending in warm shots. The Queen’s cleared and attacked without result. The Celtic dashed down again and registered another goal. Corners fell to the home team, but all were cleared. In the last few minutes both teams worked hard. Result :- Celtic, four goals; Queen’s, three.
