Trivia
- Four goals for Sandy McMahon!
- Albion Rovers player McGheachan apparently played so well that he signed on professional terms with Celtic. Although we believe he never ended up playing for the first team in a competitive match. He did play for Celtic in a Friendly Match for Celtic v Battlefield on 3rd March 1894. Celtic won that match 2-0.

Celtic v Albion Rovers – This match was played at Parkhead before a poor attendance. In the first half play was very brisk, and the Rover’s goal was assailed continuously with occasional rushes by the Rovers’ forwards. Doyle and Reynolds were safe; Rovers’ defence brilliant and weak in turns. Half-time :- Celtic two goals; Rovers, nil. The second portion was greatly in the Celts’ favour, the forwards combining splendidly. Mainly through the efforts of McMahon, Divers, Mally (sic), and Blessington, the Celtic scored other five goals, three in the opening ten minutes. Result: Celtic, seven goals; Rovers, nil.
