Trivia
- First match between the two after Hibs had hammerred Celtic 6-2 in the Glasgow Charity Cup final a few months back in May 1902.
- Andrew McPherson: league debut, and he was said to be "nervous and excited at crucial moments". No surprise as he had been the one in goals that lost six goals to them in the Glasgow Charity Cup. Celtic drew 1-1 in this league debut for him, so an improvement for him.
Review
Bunting and flags still evident in Edinburgh following last week's Coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra.
A very even game, with Celtic possible more deserving of a winner than Hibs
