Debutant Jimmy McMenemy fitted in quite well. Went on to become a pivotal Celtic player for the club. A great servant to the club and a man much admired & respected by the whole support.

Johnny Campbell scored and thus managed to score in every competitive game in the calendar month of September.
The hero of the hour was Peter Somers who scored with a header from a corner kick in the last minute to save Celtic from their first defeat of the season.
