The Glasgow Herald – Jan 22, 1906
There were 5,000 spectators at Celtic Park. The ground was very soft, and rain fell during practically the whole game. Although playing against the wind, the Celts monopolised the attack during the first twenty minutes.
McNair scored with a long, hard drive, Bennett beat Howden with a header from a perfect centre by Hamilton, and McMenemy raised the total to three from an almost impossible scoring position.
The visitors after the third goal had been scored showed better form than previously but their work at goal was very weak, and they failed to beat Adams. Half-time – Celtic three goals, Partick Thistle nothing.
The visitors played better after the interval, and a misunderstanding between McLeod and Adams let in Kennedy who scored. The Celts replied with a grand forward run, and Bennett got the better of Howden from a centre by McNair.
The Thistle again attacked strongly but their finishing was still for the most part poor.
