- Dundee were Celtic's closest challengers, and really needed to win to-day to have any chance of catching them.
- Attendance contained a fair amount of "Bonnie Dundonians" (about 800 on special trains) and they were convinced that they had the ball over the line on one occasion.
- Referee Mr Kirkham, generally, did not have a good game.
