- General Election now in full swing as Liberals seek mandate to get Budget through House of Lords. It will last until mid February.
- Last game against Port Glasgow Athletic, who go out of business in 1911. Their club was nicknamed “The Undertakers” – the reasons for this are somewhat confused. One explanation is the involvement of a local funeral director in the founding of the initial side or, more likely, they were known as the Undertakers because they played in black and white.

Jimmy McMenemy, Celtic 4-0 Port Glasgow Athletic, 15th January 1910. This was Celtic’s last ever match against the Port, who were relegated that season after eight years in the top flight, and folded in 1911. Picture from the Daily Record and Mail, 17th January 1910.
