Celtic v. GREENOCK MORTON. At Parkhead, Glasgow. In the first half the game was mostly in favour of the Celts, whose forwards were very nippy, and gave the Morton halves so much to do that they were unable to attend to their own forwards who were never dangerous, except when 0’Hagan headed into Mulrooney’s hands. Over and above playing well in the open, the Parkheaders were shooting well, but Bradford further added to his reputation by saving two fine shots from Quinn, and on another occasion he made a daring save from the foot of the Parkhead pivot. On several occasions he was the saviour of his side. Towards the interval Morton were more prominent, and put in a spell of attack, but at the interval there was no scoring. There was a great improvement in the play of the Greenock side at the resumption and if 0’Hagan had not dallied with the ball he would have opened his side’s account. Following a severe pressure by the Celts, in which Hamilton missed an open goal, after Gallacher had worked the ball down, Stark let his forwards away. M’Lean got possession and passing to O’Hagan, that player scored a Splendid goal. Following this reverse Celts attacked strongly and from a corner Johnstone equalised the scores. Till the finish Celts had the better of the exchanges, but failed to add to their score.
Result:—A draw r -one goal each Celtic—Mulrooney: M’Nair and Dodds; Young, Loney and Johnstone; M’Atee, Gallacher, Quinn. M’Menemy, and Hamilton.
