Trivia
- The goal that proved to be the winner was scored by Dubliner Billy Crone who was unfortunate in that he was with Glasgow Celtic at a time when his preferred position was occupied by the greats, McMenemy and Gallacher. In his 3 years with the club Billy only played 17 times but scored 9 goals.
- The Glasgow Herald reports that the accounts of Queen's Park FC (Limited) show a "most satisfactory position", with income of £11,313 and expenditure of £9,028 leaving a balance of £2,284 going to the balance sheet, which shows cash in the bank £7,421. The only liability is the £6,000 Bond on the ground and a new pavillion is expected to be ready in the Autumn.
- Page 10 of the Glasgow Herald reports on how the United States has invaded Mexico and taken the town of Vera Cruz following the acrimonious exchange of letters between President Wilson of the USA and President Huerta of Mexico in what is becoming known as the Tampico Incident. A train carrying 250 US citizens which fled the capital Mexico City arrived safely in Vera Cruz. General Zapata whose army of outlaws has been fighting the government of President Huerta has promised to fight on his side against the Yankees, but General “Pancho” Villa took a different view and said “Why do the United States want to take any notice of that drunken old ass Huerta anyway?”
- The second day of the Oscar Slater "private" inquiry ordered by the Secretary of State for Scotland, Mr McKinnon Wood, in terms: "Did Oscar Slater fly from justice?" took place at the County Buildings Glasgow. Sheriff J. Gardner Millar, KC presided and 12 witnesses, some from Liverpool were heard, regarding evidence that Oscar Slater had given his travel arrangements and said he was travelling by the S.S. Lusitania.

HAMILTON ACADEMICALS v CELTIC.- League match at Hamilton, before 7,000 spectators.
The Celtic, although playing against the wind, had quite equal scoring chances to the Academicals, whose forwards frittered away their opportunities in the goalmouth.
McColl scored just on the interval from a pass by Gallagher.
The Academicals had a good say in the exchanges during the second half, but corners were their only award.
Seven minutes from time Crone scored a second goal for the Celtic from a pass by McAtee.
Just before the close Bain scored from a penalty kick for the Academicals.
