- The Glasgow Herald is still disapproving of football being played and gives Celtic's game little space, but continues to promote the war with tales of derring-do about a troop of Lancers intervening when, alerted by aeriel reports of a train bringing heavy artillery up to German troops near Argonne, they crossed the lines, lay in wait and blew up the railway line with a mine as the train passed over it.
- The Herald also reports the death at Toomebridge, Ireland of Mr James Grant, JP, a prominent member of Celtic FC who had ran a business in Glasgow for 30 years and had taken a leading part in the Irish Nationalist movement.

Raith Rovers v Celtc – Scottish League, First Division game at Stark’s Park, Kirkcaldy yesterday. Both clubs were represented by the same players as on Saturday. Celtic commenced with several business-like attacks, and were early scorers, McMenemy heading a goal as the result of a cross from McAtee five minutes from the kick off.
In quick sequence the home team drew level, Gibson netting with a penalty kick awarded Rovers for a Celtic defender handling in the area.
The Celts again obtained the ascendancy through the agency of McColl, who, taking advantage of a a free kick and a slip by Lavery, slipped the ball past the Rovers’ custodian.
As quickly as before, Raith secured an equal footing in the same manner as their opponents gained their second goal. Logan kicked the ball into goal, and Welsh scored the equalising goal.
There was no scoring in the second half, which was a dour, persistent, struggle for the winning goal. Raith Rovers 2 goals; Celtic, 2 goals. Attendance estimated at 5,000
