Raith Rovers put up quite a good fight against the Celtic at Glasgow, and though they lost two goals in the first half they were due a goal themselves, which, however, did not come until well on in the second portion. It was Rattray scored it. Then the Rovers made a great effort to equalise, but instead, McColl – who performed the “hat trick” – got a third goal for the Celts, which settled the destiny of the League points. The attendance would be about 5,000.

The Rovers forwards commenced in brilliant style, and Shaw was frequently tested. After being outplayed the home team showed improvement and McColl scored twice before the interval. The second half was more evenly contested and each side scored once.
