MORE SURPRISES
With the anticipation of the War Funds match which takes place at Hampden Park this afternoon, a picth programme of holiday games was completed yesterday, with nine Scottish League matches and several minor games on behalf of war charities. The various League games again attracted good attendances, not-withstanding that most of them were played under depressing weather conditions. The results, while of a surprising nature in a few instances – notably Raith Rovers’ success – their second in the championship – at the expense of Aberdeen, Heart of Mid-Lothian’s win over Hamilton Accademicals, and Celtic’s goalless draw with Clyde – do not materially alter the complexion of the League table.
At Parkhead where Celtic and Clyde contested a keen game, the play was dominated by the respective defences, and the result is seen in a goalless daraw.
