- Herald also reports a 2 year old boy living at 13 Henrietta Place, Off Gallowgate was attacked by a large rat while sleeping in his bed. The boy, James Leith was bleeding profusely from bites to head, cheek and hand. Police killed the rat.
- Page 10 of the Herald carries a report on the affairs of the Anglo Persian Oil Co. which has recently started pumping oil though Persian tribesmen have cut the pipeline causing damage/loss estimated at £402,387.
- The anti-war campaigner and Irish Republican sympathiser Jeremiah O'Leary has been arrested in New York also arrested there was Thomas O'Callaghan who is charged with the murder of two policemen during a Sinn Fein revolt in Ireland.
