CELTIC AND RANGERS CHECKED
If the Partick Thistle players failed to achieve their first League victory over Celtic, the Firhill officials had cause for rejoicing in an attendance record for the ground. A sum of £887 drawn at the turnstiles, represented 30,000 spectators, and was further indication of the interest taken in a competition which delivers such a measure of patronage being? conducted on sensible lines. It is good to know that, having done well for themselves and the public, the League clubs are about to initiate a subsidiary competition having for its object the wellbeing of disabled soldier players and their dependants. Reverting to the game at Firhill, it may be said that equity was attained in a goalless draw, for which Celtic claimed a slight lead on play, the home team had the better chances of scoring, and the only shots likely to deceive the rival goalkeepers were directed against crossbar or upright.
