STRENUOUS GAME AT PARKHEAD
A Celtic improvised half-back line did not bear comparison with the stalwart trio that have so capably represented the Greenock Morton for several seasons. The Parkhead attack on the other hand, exhibited method and cohesion, lacking in a forward line bereft of Gourlay and Seymour. The result was a general equality, adequately reflected in the result, and if the home team claimed a monopoly in attack, the visitors had in Robertson a goalkeeper skilful enough to negotiate the somewhat puerile attempts to get past his guard. The game was marked by much vigour, several players were disabled, and in other respects it was a most strenuous and exciting contest. As such it was in keeping with anticipation, and to the 30,000 assembled appeared a colourable imitation of a pre-war cup tie.
