An attendance of 16,000 at Paisley, a record for the season, was testimony that the Celtic eleven as at present constituted approximates so nearly to pre-war standard as to give the championship a more decided character. The demobilisation of McAtee and McStay, and the temporary assistance of Dodds, Taylor, and Cassidy, have caused a complete transformation; the discredited eleven so readily beaten at Motherwell make way for potential champions. In that role, Celtic figured at Paisley where the home team could make no impression, nor withstand the impetuous dashes of McAtee, stil less the sinuous movements of Gallagher.
