[…] Fully 8000 spectators witnessed a stirring game on Rugby Park, Kilmarnock. The issue was uncertain till the last moment. In the first half Kilmarnock excelled, but the Celtic secured the opening goal through McInally, after tirty minutes' play. Celtic pressed vigorously in the early part of the second half. Kilmarnock afterwards came away strenuously, and goals were taken by M. Smith and Macnaught. Cassidy equalised. It fell to Culley to secure the winning goal for Kilamrnock six minutes from the finish.
