Match Report from The Scotsman, 2nd May 1921
The Airdrieonians hardly deserved to lose their last game of the season, played at Airdrie before 10,000 spectators, taking into account the general run of the play. They did quite as much attacking, but the difference was made up by the sparkling runs of McLean and the unexpected things performed by Gallacher. Apart from their left wing and centre, the Parkhead lot did not show to advantage. Doyle scored for Airdrie, and Gallacher for Celtic in first half. The two succeeding goals were due to McLean, though actually McInally scored one of them. Henderson had the Airdrieonians’ second. J. Reid’s crossing of the ball provided many openings that might have turned the result entirely.
