Match report from The Scotsman, 7th September 1921
At Celtic Park, Glasgow, last night, Celtic gained an easy victory over Dumbarton. The first half favoured Celtic, and within a minute McInally, who made his first appearance for the season, had the ball past Wilkinson. Dumbarton frequently got within range of the Celtic goal, but the forwards, although playing well in the open, failed to push home their attack. McEwan, at at outside-right had frequently the measure of Dodds, and gave Collins several raking shots to hold. Near the interval Gallacher went through on his own, and scored a grand goal. In the second half celtic served up some delightful football, but the Dumbarton defenders put up a good fight, especially Wilkinson, who had several fine saves. McInally scored a third goal, and shortly before the finish Cassidy got a fourth. Attendance, 8000.
