Glasgow Herald-Monday 19 September 1921
At Celtic Park Glasgow. Estimated attendance, 20,000. Drawings (exclusive of tax) £772. Teams:- Celtic:- Shaw; McNair and Dodds; Gilchrist, Cringan, and McMaster; McAtee and Gallagher; McInally; Cassidy and Pratt. Partick Thistle:- Campbell; Struthers, and Chricton, Johnstone, Wilson, and Harris; Blair and Kinloch, McFarlane, McMenemy and Salisbury. Referee: T. McMillan (Hamilton). Both goalkeepers were frequently tested in the first half. Shaw had some difficulty in clearing from Blair, and Campbell was all but beaten by McAtee. The visitors left wing were preeminent in attack, and on the home side much of the good work was done by Gallagher, McInally and Cassidy. Partick Thistle offered a sound defence, and there was no scoring at the interval. On resuming the visitors were the more aggressive side. Blair narrowly missed from a clearance by Shaw, but a few minutes later he smartly scored the first goal. Blair continued to trouble the home defence. Celtic recovered, and after several unsuccessful efforts Gallagher drove against Struthers, the ball cannoning off the right back into the goal.
