The Glasgow Herald – Mar 10, 1924
Celtic beat Kilmarnock at Parkhead by the narrowest of margins in a game in which they were to a great extent the better side. Celtic had the better of the early exchanges , and Connelly opened the scoring in two minutes. Kilmarnock then settled, and tested the Celtic defence, but without success. From a corner against Kilmarnock McLean sent in a hard drive that Morton did well to save. After 25 minutes Cassidy scored Celtic’s second goal. After change of ends Kilmarnock played with great determination and Skillen beat Shaw within five minutes of the resumption. Kilmarnock continued to bombard the home goal, but were met with no further success.
