Glasgow Herald – 31 Mar 1924
Airdrieonians strengthened their position on the League table with a convincing win over Celtic.
Airdrieonians were prominent at the start, and in a scrimmage Russell opened the scoring. Celtic then pressed, but too much was left for Gallagher, and nothing resulted from his efforts. In the second half Celtic forced the play, but their attack was disjointed and Ewart was not overly tested. Ultimately Airdrieonians returned to the attack and Gallacher beat Shaw. Hard play continued to the end, but Celtic were unable to score.
