The Glasgow Herald, Mon Feb 02, 1925

Morton and Motherwell gave and uninspiring display at Cappielow, neither side surmounting the unfavourable ground conditions, and a goalless draw was a reasonable ending to a featureless game. It was otherwise at Celtic Park, where Celtic and Hibernian gave a splendid exhibition. Celtic were slightly the more aggressive side, but a draw of one goal each was a good result of a game in which the Hibernian half-backs played a distinguished part.

Even play characterised the first half, when there was no scoring on either side. Nine minutes after change of ends McLean gave Celtic the lead but shortly afterwards Dunn scored for Hibernian, and although Celtic pressed the rest of the remaining period the failed to regain the lead.
