Trivia
- Debut for David Prentice who scored a goal
- David Prentice actually never hit any heights again, and never once scored for Celtic in any of his other five league matches for the first team.
- Note: Some sources claim David Prentice scored a hat-trick on this debut, but it was actually Peter Scarffe going by the Glasgow Herald Report from 11 March 1929.
- Raith Rovers were poor that season and finished bottom of the league table.
- It was indeed Peter Scarff who scored the hat-trick, but David Prentice scored the first goal which equalised Raith Rovers opener, scored by a man called Albert Pigg!
- The Fife Free Press says that the best man on the park was John Thomson, but then again it would because "Jock" Thomson was born in Kirkcaldy.
