- The end of season Scottish league had little of interest to report as all the issues are settled, but centre-forward, Cunningham, and inside-left, Harry Borland, were not thinking of their holidays and both scored in a good win for Clyde. Celtic had fought to equalise Cunningham's opener in 14 minutes and they got the chance in 55 minutes, but Willie Stevenson saved Peter Wilson's penalty kick.
- In England, where promotion and relegation problems are still very much alive, the Wednesday, leaders and likely champions, were soundly beaten by their challengers, Derby County, but the position of the Sheffield club at the head of affair is still strong. Of more interest is the plight of the bottom teams, and one of these, Newcastle United, made another step towards safety by securing a point at Liverpool. An extraordinary game was that at Leicester, where Arsenal and the local City divided no fewer than twelve goals, of which David Halliday (ex-Dundee), the Arsenal centre-forward, had four. In the Second Division, Blackpool are firmly entrenched at the top. Chelsea and Oldham Athletic both dropped two points, and their position as second and third, respectively remains unchanged. The English FA Cup final will be played at Wembley on 26 April between Arsenal and Huddersfield Town.
- Calcutta, April 21.—The official report from the Inspector-General of Police for Bengal, who was sent to Chittagong in connection with the raid on the Chittagong railway and police armouries on Friday night, in which 9 were killed, says:— "April 20.—Just returned from eight hours' march in the hills north of Chittagong." Operations were extremely difficult on account of the hilly country and the dense jungle, and we failed to get into touch with the insurgents”.

CLYDE'S SUCCESS AT PARKHEAD.
Five thousand spectators were present at the concluding League game of Celtic and Clyde.
The play was quiet until the closing fifteen minutes, when Celtic began to realise that they were confronted with defeat.
The home team had most of the attack during the first half and it was all against the play when Clyde opened the scoring fourteen minutes after the start, Cunningham heading in with Thomson out of goal.
The keeper was impeded by McGonagle in his effort to intercept the cross.
Ten minutes before the interval Celtic were awarded a penalty-kick, but Stevenson saved Wilson's shot at the expense of a corner.
Clyde had more of the game in the second half and fifteen minutes from the end Borland increased the score.
Celtic's outside men were poor, and seldom got the ball across. The inside men were weak in finishing, but their defence was sound.
Clyde put plenty of enthusiasm into their play, and because of that earned the points. Stevenson was clever in goal, and his backs solid. Gibson was a great defender, and Rankine and Borland fine distributors.
