- Celtic were less troubled by Aberdeen than had been anticipated, and had a comparatively easy journey, winning by four goals to nothing. Fans favourite Robert Thomson had three of his club's goals, while Aberdeen, even with ex-Celtic veteran Adam McLean in attendance could not get on the scoresheet.
- Two of the Scottish semi-finalists were revealed in Celtic and Motherwell, who got the better, respectively, of Aberdeen and Cowdenbeath. Replays will be necessary in the Bo’ness-Kilmarnock and Third Lanark-St. Mirren matches. Motherwell had a difficult task to account for Cowdenbeath, and were a shade lucky in gaining the verdict.
- Only one semi-finalist emerged from the English ties—Everton. They swamped the Third Division Southport by nine goals to one, Dixie Dean having four to his credit. The other Third Division club Exeter, continued to provide the shocks by drawing with Sunderland on the latter's own ground. They had a goal each. Most, interest was shown in the Birmingham, Chelsea, clash. The Londoners had a narrow escape from defeat, gaining the right to a replay only in the last stages. There were four goals in the match. No final decision was reached in the Wolverhampton-West Bromwich tie, two goals being shared.
- Hats of the "more matronly type" are advertised by Renton’s of Princes St. in the Scotsman. "They are particularly well suited for Ladies who maintain a style of coiffure greatly, and are of generous design and a more ample size. Prices from 39s/11d."

ABERDEEN COLLAPSE AGAINST CELTIC
An attendance of 64,000 spectators, with net drawings to divide of £2,868, was one memorable thing about the Cup tie at, Parkhead, where Celtic and Aberdeen met.
Another was the fine aggressive play of the Celtic right-winger, R. Thomson, who scored three of his side's four goals, and materially contributed to the other. A third was the practical eclipse of Aberdeen after ten minutes’ play in which they had shown better football than their opponents.
Both sides were handicapped by the absence of players who had been injured in the international at Belfast—Wilson of Celtic and Yorston of Aberdeen, while Hill of the latter club could not play.
Celtic got out of their difficulty by playing Scarff in the middle line.
Aberdeen began by playing Love as leader and then resorted to McLean. Neither was a success, and the weakness in centre affected the whole team.
Electing to face the wind. Aberdeen made a surprisingly good start. Combining beautifully, they harried the Celtic defence for fully ten minutes, though they had no real punch in their shooting.
A fine cross by Smith was stopped by Thomson, but only partially cleared, and Love failed to use the opportunity. Later when Celtic had packed their goal Donald lofted in a fine shot. Thomson saving at the last second by an upward punch.
Celtic broke out and met with unexpected success. A pass back by an Aberdonian was snapped up, and the movement continued, with Kavanagh ending by crossing the ball for R. Thomson to score.
Aberdeen were reeling under the Celtic onslaughts, and though Smith took them out of one difficulty R Thomson scored from a flag kick by Kavanagh.
Aberdeen played pluckily against a side that was now full of confidence, but they never looked like reducing the leeway. Indeed, it was only a question of the Celtic adding to their score.
They had to go nearly half an hour of the second half before McGrory threw himself at a cross by R. Thomson to score his side's third goal, while just before the end R. Thomson scored from a McGrory pass.
As a Cup tie the game was disappointing.
