MORE POINTS FOR CELTIC
Before an attendance of about 9,000, the Celtic had a good win over Falkirk.
During the first half the visitors were slightly ahead of their opponents, but were not able to gain any reward for their pressure.
The Celtic men appeared to be preserving themselves in view of their meeting with the Rangers on Monday, but began to let themselves go when McStay had to retire owing to an accident to his nose.
Falconer was severely tested several times during the first half, and was at times fortunate in keeping his goal intact.
The second half saw a Celtic revival. In five minutes they went ahead through Napier convening a penalty kick for a handling infringement.
Then Hamil was unfortunate enough to deflect a shot from R. Thomson past his goalkeeper fifteen minutes later, and within the next ten minutes the Celtic went further ahead by goals from Napier and McGrory.
Morgan scored for Falkirk near the finish, but the Celtic were latterly easy winners. Thomson did splendidly in the Falkirk goal, and saved many fine shots.
Richardson, Gall, and Morgan were also outstanding for the losers, and tried hard to improve matters for their side once they settled down, which was late in the first-half, the Celtic gave a fine all-round display. Some of their movements were almost bewildering.
