Trivia
- Joe Coen has only made a few appearances in goal for the first team and it is not clear if this outing did his chances of commanding a first-team berth any good. Willie Hughes must have been pleased with his performance outscoring the great Patsy Gallacher by eight goals to one.
- In former days the meeting of Queen’s Park and Corinthians attracted a crowd of at least 30,000, but at Hampden Park yesterday there was an attendance of only 5,000. The famous English amateurs triumphed as they deserved to, but the margin—3 goals to 1—in their favour might not have been so pronounced, had Queen’s Park not been compelled to play the entire second half without James Crawford their international right-winger. Shortly before the interval Crawford received a knock on the knee, and did not reappear after the turn.
- Backers had a bad time at the Glasgow White City stadium last night, when some big-priced winners were returned. Their biggest setback was in the fourth event, where Mickey March, which was backed to odds-on, failed by a neck to Big Bug. In the second flat handicap, Sure Enough Dick, the market leader, failed to find a place. The winner here was Matchem, which along with Randazzo was quoted at 10-1 against. The last race was declared void owing to fighting.
- Rioting in several Indian cities followed the arrest of Mr Gandhi and other Congress leaders, and as a result the authorities have prohibited meetings and processions for specified periods. The Government has issued an order proclaiming the Congress Working Committee to be unlawful, and one of four new Ordinances makes peaceful picketing, which was tolerated during the last civil disobedience campaign, an offence.

As the interval drew near Hughes again scored, and then Gardiner equalised. Within three minutes Hughes and Gallagher scored for the club side, and Gardiner for the League, the scores at the interval being 4-3 for Celtic and Falkirk.
The Celtic and Falkirk combine scored three goals quickly after the interval Hughes (two) and Gall being the scorers. Then followed a couple by Main and Gardiner for the League.
