- Dundee strated well with a goal in 4 minutes by inside-left Bobby Rankin, but it was Celtic's young forwards, particularly John Divers and Frank O'Donnell, who shone in an end-of-season affair that attracted a small crowd. The scoreline flattered Dundee, who scored their second goal through centre-forward, McKay, in an incident which saw Joe Kennaway carried off as the full-time whistle blew.
- Rangers won the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park on Saturday and in doing so gained an unexpectedly easy 5-0 victory over St Mirren.
- In England Arsenal look to have the league won following their 2-1 home win over Sunderland.
- Tazio Nuvolari the famous Italian racing motorist was badly injured while taking part in the Grand Prix in Bordino. In heavy rain his car was in collision with that of Achille Varzi and left the track. Nuvolari sustained compound fractures to both legs. His rival Varzi went on to win the race.
- "The Scotsman" Correspondent, Madrid , April 22 —A general 24-hour "anti-Fascist" strike took place suddenly in Madrid as a protest against the mass meeting today of the Catholic Popular Action party. There are no trams, no underground trains, and no taxis running, causing great inconvenience to many.
- Passengers in a Glasgow Corporation tramcar had an exciting experience last night when the vehicle was struck by lightning. The car was going along Gallowgate towards the city when the mishap occurred. There were a number of passengers in the tram at the time, and the coats of several women were slightly singed.

CELTIC SHOW GOOD FORM
The attendance at Celtic Park, Glasgow, 5,000, gave a decided indication that the end of the season is near, but there was nothing of that description in the play, which was always keen and refreshing.
The Celtic were early attacking, but Dundee were the first to score. Rankine accepting a pass from Kirby to beat Kennaway inside five minutes. That wakened up the home team, who gave Marsh a lot of trouble before Divers equalised in eleven minutes.
Continuing to attack, the Celtic were almost constantly in the Dundee goal area, and it was quite in keeping with the run of play when Divers counted again with a cleverly placed effort. Only the brilliant defence of Marsh and his backs kept the eager Celts out, but by degrees the visitors worked upfield, and Murdoch tested Kennaway with a clever shot.
An injury to Wilson did not prevent the Celtic dominating the play, and a fast shot from H. O'Donnell struck the crossbar. Kirkby had a good opportunity to equaliser just before the interval, but he finished poorly.
Wilson did not reappear after the interval and the Celtic played four forwards, but that did not prevent them from attacking continually. Only in defence were Dundee the equal of their opponents, but their rearguard was showing signs of overwork as the game proceeded.
Nine minutes from the end F. O'Donnell added the Celts third goal, and in a late burst McKay reduced the leeway.
Divers was the outstanding Celtic forward. His footwork was exceptionally good, but all through the team played splendidly.
Even when Kennaway was injured late in the game, the home team were always "on top," although the goalkeeper's absence may have been responsible for giving Dundee their late goal.
