- Jimmy McGrory opened the scoring for the bhoys on 20 minutes when he beat old team-mate Peter Shevlin, but English centre-forward, David Wilson, countered for Accies one minute later. Outside-left, Bobby Reid, was next on the score sheet for the home side in 55 minutes and Harrison added a third five minutes later only for Jimmy Delaney to reduce the defecit to a single goal in 62 minutes, but the superiority of the home side was confirmed when Wilson got his second, and his side's fourth goal in 85 minutes.
- Unbeaten records were preserved by St Johnstone and Clyde on Saturday, and as a result they continue to head the Scottish Footoall league. Hibernians found themselves set too difficult a task to lower Clyde's colours at Shawfield, though they made a valiant effort to do so. Clyde's winning margin was only one goal, the odd one in five, and a draw would not have done injustice to either side. There was also only one goal between St Johnstone and Partick Thistle at Perth.
- In England Ray Bowden, with practically the last kick of the match, gave Arsenal victory over West Bromwich Albion at Highbury. A severe thunderstorm and heavy rain, which began, half an hour before the start made the pitch very heavy. There were over 40,000 present.
- The, order prohibiting the sounding of motor car horns in all "built-up” areas in Great Britain between 11.30 p.m. and 7 a.m. came into force last night.
- Hitler is to rule Germany for life after Dr Lammer, State Secretary for the Chancellor's Office declared that the “Weimar Constitution” is no longer valid and the office of President is abolished. Hitler is now both Reichspresident and Reichschancellor for life, and is not responsible to the Reichstag.
- The Glasgow vessel, S. S. Glenogle owned by Glen Line Ltd., was driven ashore by a typhoon while anchored in Manila Harbour in the Philippines. She was not badly damaged and it is hoped to re-float the ship on the next high tide.

HAMILTON'S GOOD WIN
Hamilton Academicals gained a convincing win by four goals to two over Celtic at Hamilton.
The victory was due to the forwards' thrustfulness and ability to make the most of their opportunities, aided, to some extent, by the weakness of the Celtic half-back line.
Reid, on the left wing, was outstanding, and his goal, which gave Hamilton the lead early in the second half was brilliantly taken.
The Hamilton defence was unsteady in the first half, and Celtic opened the scoring through McGrory who cleverly turned in a wing pass.
Wilson equalised in a manner almost identical to McGrory a little, later.
Exerting their superiority in the second half, the home forwards almost overran the Celtic defence, Reid, Harrison, and Wilson adding to the Hamilton total, and Delaney scoring Celtic's second goal.
