- Jock Neish former Buckie Thistle outside-right opened the scoring for the Maryhill Jags in 25 minutes but second half goals by Hugh and Frank O'Donnell, (2); clinch the points for Celtic. Thistle were unfortunate to have two players, Johnny Ballantyne and James McAllister, injured.
- St Johnstone are now 3 points clear of Rangers at the top of the Scottish First Division. Celtic are in 8th place.
- The Scotland international team, with only one Celt, William "Peter" McGonagle, playing in it lost to Ireland 2-1 in Belfast despite the fact that the Scots led 0 -1 at half time, and the Irish played the whole of the second half with 10 men after Elisha Scott their keeper had to go to hospital with an injury.
- Thanks to a decisive win over Aston Villa, Stoke City jumped into second place in the English League. The Arsenal are at the top, and Sunderland, Manchester City, and Everton all lost ground. Bolton Wanderers, strengthened their position at the top of the Second Division, but Newcastle United suffered another defeat and at home. Manchester United were their visitors.
- Carl Sandell, the captain of a Swedish cargo ship, Blenda, which took 8 days to travel from Ayr to Wick, said the storms he encountered around the Mull of Kintyre were the worst he had ever experienced.

PARTICK THISTLE'S MISFORTUNES
Partick Thistle lost another two valuable points at Firhill Park, Glasgow, where they were beaten by the Celtic after a keen and exciting game.
The home men had all the bad luck that was going. Ballantyne met with a leg injury after half an hour, which made him of little use to his side for the remainder of the game and McAllister early in the second half was carried off suffering from a fractured rib.
While they were at full strength in the first half the Thistle were a much smarter side than the Celtic, but after the interval the Parkhead team took advantage of the Thistle's crippled condition and secured the points.
At the start the Thistle played strongly, Elliot and McLeod, the wing half-backs doing particularly well and giving the Celtic forwards little chance to settle. Their good work was carried on by the forwards, and only brilliant saving by Kennaway kept Ballantyne, Neish, and Miller from finding the net.
In twenty-five minutes however a cross from Bain was foozled by Morrison, and Neish, running in, shot the ball past Kennaway from eighteen yards range. Shortly afterwards Ballantyne met with his injury, but the Thistle continued to be the likely side and Kennaway did well to stop a great try from Elliot.
There was a big improvement in the Celtic's play in the second half, and after Buchan bad struck a post H. O'Donnell secured the equaliser from short range.
Then came McAllister's injury, and while he was being taken off the Celtic took the lead. F. O'Donnell heading the ball into the net following a free kick well placed by Hogg. The Celtic were on top then, but the Thistle defence put up a great fight, and did well to prevent the Celtic getting more than another goal, which fell to F. O'Donnell.
The attendance was about 20,000.
