CELTIC BEAT MORTON
WINNING GOAL SCORED SIX MINUTES FROM FINISH
Celtic had to fight every inch of the way in their match with Morton at Cappielow last night. Morton were early in arrears, Murphy being the marksman, but a great revival brought about two goals. From a penalty Smith scored, and fifteen minutes from the interval W. Black cleverly converted a cross from Collins. On the resumption Celtic attacked, and Buchan put on the equaliser. Morton still fought courageously, and it was not until six minutes from the finish that Buchan, from a corner kick, scored the winning goal. Buchan and Murphy were the two stars in the Celtic eleven. In defence, Kennaway, Hogg, and McDonald were best. For Morton, Stewart, Simpson, and Robb were outstanding.
