CELTIC’S GOAL REVEL

Kilmarnock had a very cheerless time at Parkhead. While Celtic scored eight goals, the score could have been bigger, as they eased up very noticeably in the second half.

Marsh had rather a hectic baptism for the Ayrshire team, but apart from the first goal, which he might have saved, he had no chance with the balls that beat him.

The home side sprang a pleasant surprise by fielding Delaney, recovered from his injury sustained playing for his country at Aberdeen, but the dashing winger was not by any means fit, and after being off for 15 minutes, eventually retired after 60 minutes play.

The scoring started early, Delaney netting after three minutes, and then Murphy, with a glorious solo run, added number two, Crum the third, and McDonald the fourth.

Crum and Murphy netted two more before the interval.

In the second half. Divers opened his account, and followed with another inside two minutes. The attendance was 8,000.
