CELTIC TUMBLE TO BOTTOM OF LEAGUE TABLE
Only three clubs have the maximum points to their credit after but three weeks of Reigonal League football in Scotland – Rangers in the Western Section and Dunfermline Athletic and Falkirk in the Eastern-North-Eastern division. Rangers’ record is a very fine one, for in the three games played –two away from home – they have scored nine goals and conceded none.
What a contrast with their famous rivals, Celtic, who along with Ayr United are on the bottom rung of the Western League with not one point! Celtic, in fact, have been beaten on five successive Saturdays—thrice in the League, once in a friendly, and also in the Glasgow Cup semi-final.
GALL IN THE WOUND
Queen of the South pierced the Celtic defence three times on Saturday, and two of the goals came from their former forward Connor. And while Celtic failed to score, Buchan, who was assisting his former club only a fortnight ago, had three goals for Stehnousemuir, while another ex-Celt, Napier, had three for Falkirk. This was Napier’s second three-goal achievement in successive weeks.
