CELTIC’S FIRST VICTORY
On the home front the feature of the day was provided by Celtic, who registered their first victory in the west section of the Scottish League. Their previous six games had yielded only two points from two draws.
Celtic and Ayr United now move away from the bottom of the table.
If Gould had a fault, it was a tendancy to be overstrong with his passes, but ultimately he found Divers, who had veered across field, and the latter, actually sitting on the ball for a split second, lured Wilson out. But Divers smartly recovered, swept the ball inside, and Crum's scoring task was a sinecure.
