- The match program states 1 Jan 1948, but actually the game was Played the following Day 2nd January 1948 and no programme exists for the 2nd January 1948. Also the front cover is of Tommy McCann who never played either in this match or for Celtic in any first team competitive match.
Review
Rangers pulled themselves back onto the top of Division A with this win. Thornton connected with a volley from 20yds out from a corner from Rutherford to make it 2-0 and effectively seal the game.
