Trivia

  • Glasgow Cup final

  • A hot and sunny day, 87k attendance!
  • First Trophy won by Celtic since the War.
  • Jock Weir scores a double to help win Celtic the trophy, his eighth goal in this month, and comes two days after scoring against Rangers in a 3-1 win but then his goal scoring totally dried up.
  • Celtic then went on to lose the next four games in a row!

Review

Third Lanark were awarded a penalty on 53 minutes taken by Mitchell. The ball hit the post and rolled along the goal line then rebounded out off of the other post.

This signalled a Celtic revival BUT  not to be with Jock Weir’s goal scoring drying up and Celtic losing the next four games in a row!
