- Bobby Evans played for Scotland and Charlie Tully for Northern Ireland at Hampden on the 17th November, a match won by Scotland 3-2.
- After 18 seasons with the club Bobby Hogg at 34 was given a free transfer at his own request. His last appearance with Celtic had been on the 17th April in the crucial League game against Dundee which Celtic had to win to avoid relegation. He later joined Alloa Athletic.
