- Another season and another cup humiliation for Celtic.
- Two of the goals were set up by Frankie Quinn who had been released on a free a season or two back.
Review
An ignominious game and an indication of underlying problems within the team and the whole club setup.
Yet again beaten in the first game of the Scottish Cup by lower division opposition. What is more, the score could have been even worse as Dundee United had three gaols chalked off for infringements.
There appeared little fight in the team. Boardroom level were still interfering with team selection. Senior players were getting away with avoiding training and if not openly ridiculing the techniques espoused by class trainer Jimmy Hogan, then seeing little relevance in what he was asking them to do.
Furthermore we needed to be scoring more than we were.
