Trivia
- Roy Milne's effectively last first team game.
- At this stage of the season after a good run with a steady regular team celtic had risen to fourth in the table and looked like they would challenge for the League this season. Dundee were top followed by Aberdeen, Hibernian and Celtic, with four points separating them.
Review
Not a pretty game or a skillful one with atrocious conditions. The centre of the park was dotted with puddles and the wings were hard and greasy. Far too much fouling and a lax attitude in the refereeing. although Celtic played the better football on a poor pitch, they lacked the crucial final pieces to put it all together.
