Review
So far this season Rangers had not been the form team and many in the Press and their suppoprters were bewailing their poor performances and lack of finesse. This game must have come as an awakening call for the Celtic players. They went into the game expecting to win and came away with nothing.

- Match Report (see end of page below)
The first goal came when Baillie fouled Waddell in midfield near the touchline. When the free kick from Young came in Thornton rose unchallenged to head the ball past Bonnar. Celtic started well but fell to pieces having conceded the first goal. Tully never once took on Young, his passing being oddly wayward, and only Evans and Baillie came out of the game with any credit. McColl and Cox gave Peacock and Collins a hard game and effectively ruled them out the game. Both Tully and Boden hit the bar – Tully in the first half and Boden with a cracking shot in the second half.
