Review
Bobby Evans started at a terrific pace and Celtic forced four corners in a row. Lafferty should have scored from a Baillie pass but lashed the ball over. East Fife scored first on the break Bell saving but Stewart was ready to tap home the rebound. Now the Celtic defence started to look shaky and Stewart beat Rollo and rolled the ball to Gardiner to score the second. After 35 minutes Stein went off with a head injury. He came back on in the second half but as outside left, Evans going to centre half. Celtic had lots of courage and fight but could not get in on goal. Walsh had a good game and scored from a Collins run and pass which Peacock flicked on. The pace and energy of the game were high only slackening for the Fifers goalkeeper to receive treatment.
