Review
The game was played in a strong end-to-end win with Celtic kicking off with the wind behind them. In the first minute a Tully corner was taken by the wind and but for Curran's punch would have crept in under the bar. The big East Fife forward line appeared to be able to muscle aside the Celtic defense and Bonnar was busy in goal. The wind was Celtic's constant aid with a Collins free kick from 25yds going narrowly wide.Celtic took the lead on 29 minutes when a Tully cross went all the way over to Weir who cut the ball back and Tully headed the cut back home. McPhail got a second from 18 yards before the interval.
Stein was injured in the second half and though he returned he took up the walking injured spot on the left wing.In the 69th minute Gardiner scored from a Fleming shot which had rebounded back from an upright.
